Christ Church is licensed for weddings. There is no need to contact the register office if you are marrying in Christ Church. |

You can normally get married in Christ Church if you live in or have a qualifying connection to Christ Church parish. If you don’t have any connections to the parish at present you can come regularly for six months (one of you at least once a month) and then you will qualify by being a member of the congregation. Jesus taught that God’s ideal is for life-long marriage, but the Church of England recognises that, sadly, some marriages do break down irretrievably and, since 2002, it has officially offered marriage in church after divorce, within certain guidelines. Prior to the wedding, we offer a marriage preparation day of fun and discussion, and a rehearsal a day or so before the event. |

The fee is dependent on a number of factors and either the clergy or the parishes office can advise you of the current rates. |
|

We add an additional fee to cover heating for weddings in the winter. |
|
|
There is now no fee for videoing the wedding. |
