Weddings

bullet For general information on Church of England weddings  CLICK HERE
bullet St Andrew's Church and Christ Church are both licensed for weddings.
bullet You can normally get married in either church if you live in or have a qualifying connection to either parish. Please CLICK HERE for explanation.
bullet Jesus taught that God’s ideal is for life-long marriage, but the Church of England recognises that, sadly, some marriages do break down irretrievably and, since 2002, it has officially offered marriage in church after divorce, within certain guidelines. In the first instance please contact the vicar of your local church (Phil at St Andrew’s, Patrick at Christ Church) to discuss this further. Patrick is willing to conduct weddings allowed by the guidelines. Please CLICK HERE for an information form.
bullet Prior to the wedding, we offer a marriage preparation evening of fun and discussion, and a rehearsal a day or two before the event.
bullet The fee is dependent on a number of factors and either the clergy or parish office can advise you of the current rates.
bullet We add an additional fee to cover heating for weddings in the winter.
bullet There is an additional charge for extras such as choir or video.
bullet To book a wedding, initially please contact the vicar of the church at which you would like to marry. Booked weddings should be visible on the Event diary linked below.
bullet For further details ring the Parish Office on 01603 473646 or E-mail.
